Though Garcia left the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) in the original show's finale, she was brought back in this reboot, reopening opportunities, including a potential romance with Alvez. Despite going on a date, they decided against pursuing a relationship but Alvez still harbors feelings for Garcia. The return of Morgan, best suited to advise Garcia about love matters, could be the push needed for this anticipated romance. In addition, with their colleagues JJ and Will LaMontagne's marriage seemingly ending, the BAU needs a healthier romance to prove the compatibility of work and love, something the original series struggled with.
